Fishing Report

Fishing Report – May 27, 2010
The last couple of weeks of saw great fishing with a good population of Chinooks averaging 12-15lb in the area, with several in the low 20lb class. With the first of May comes the long awaited opening of Lingcod & Rock Fish which adds an increased variety to a great day on the water.

We have been concentrating our efforts along Shelter Point trolling back and forth through the trenches between 180 – 250 feet of water. Other fishing spots that are consistent in May are the Lighthouse, Hump over to Marina, Cortes and Twin Islands. The Alders down to Bates Beach has also come to life!
As part of an adventure filled day we are dropping the prawn traps with great success along the back side of Quadra over to Marina and Cortes islands. Fresh prawns are a perfect way to wrap up a great day of fishing!

May is here and we're off and running with a good population of Chinooks averaging 12-15lb in the area.  We have been finding fish at the Lighthouse, the Hump, over to Cortes and down along Shelter to Salmon Point. As part of an adventure filled day, we are dropping the prawn traps with great success along the back side of Quadra, as well as over to Marina and Cortes Islands. What a great way to wrap up a day of fishing: fresh prawns dipped in garlic butter!

North of the Narrows, we are also catching 12-15lb fish, nice big Dungeness Crab.  With the first of May comes the long awaited opening of Lingcod & Rock Fish which adds an increased variety to a great day on the water.

Salmon fishing, prawning, crabbing and/or bottom fishing – the choice is yours! We look forward to sharing with you with the thrill of the catch!

Winter fishing? Sure, why not! Winter fishing at the moment concentrates on dropping prawn and dungeness crab traps, and fishing for winter spring salmon, also known as chinook salmon, and sometimes refered to as king salmon. It's always comfortable fishing on a covered boat, so why not try your luck at winter fishing?
